She is working very hard to get herself and her 7 month old daughter the best they can be. Help Now	Family with Medically Fragile Child needs help with Food, Gas, Rent I recently opened to a young family with a medically fragile daughter. She qualifies for numerous hours per day of nursing and Personal Care attendant services but is only receiving 8-16 hours per week of nursing at this time. Mom provides the care during the day while dad sleeps and dad provides care at night while mom sleeps. We are opening them to a program that will help meet all of these needs eventually but as with most services these days, there are wait lists and timelines. As of today, they will be behind $1809.50 in rent as dad had to quit his employment to assist in providing care so their daughter could be discharged from the hospital to home. The family has limited income and limited transportation. Their 4 year old daughter loves water play and getting the opportunity to go to the aquatic center that is within walking distance. She has developmental delays and is in ECSE during the school year, however classes stop for the summer. To help with maintaining routines and continued work on gross motor skills, Mom is hoping to bring her to the aquatic center 3 times per week (which would cost well over $400 if paying per session); Dad is hoping to join once a week on his one day off from work. The car is in great running condition other than a starter issue and a few other small things. This man has worked his way out of drug addiction, homelessness and reconciled with his family. This young male has experienced homelessness transition and domestic violence. Attendance has suffered and he does have goals and connections to school staff. There are seven weeks left in the school year. A team around him have created a goal of good attendance weekly and he is agreeable to this plan.
