Brain tumor recovery senior patient needs to be reunited with her registered emotional support dog in Jordan!

Dear Friends and Community, I’m reaching out today on behalf of a kind elderly woman who’s facing a heartbreaking situation. Due to an unexpected hospitalization, she was forced to place her beloved dog in a boarding shelter for the past two months. Now, as she recovers and returns home, she desperately wants to bring her dog back—but the boarding fees have grown beyond what she can afford. Her dog is not just a pet, but her only companion and source of comfort, especially after such a difficult time. We’re asking for help to cover the shelter costs so she can reunite with her best friend. Every donation, no matter how small, will directly help this sweet woman reclaim the warmth and love she’s been missing. If you can help, please donate to FISH.

Vertigo stricken senior needs $250.00 fix deflated mattress

Senior, (66) living on only $1034 a month in Social Security recently became unable to continue driving part-time at her school bus job due to a severe case of vertigo. Despite regular physical therapy to correct this, she still has bouts of dizziness preventing her from taking the chance of driving children. Her rent takes a whopping 93.5% of her income and her savings are being drained fast! She has only a few dollars left and can't afford anything extra. She is getting food stamps (SNAP), Energy Assistance from the CAP Agency and receives Medical Assistance which supplements her Medicare health insurance. When she moved into her apartment, the movers deflated her Sleep Number bed to gain entrance to her apartment and move it easier. Unfortunately, they did not re-inflate it. It will cost $250.00+ per the Sleep Number Store in Eden Prairie to come out and restore it to a proper condition for her to sleep on it. She has been sleeping on her couch for the last year and a half, and it is causing joint discomfort and isn't helping her vertigo. Her doctor said sleeping flat on a bed would be better for her diagnosis. She may need some extra clamps but that will be determined when they make the home visit. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so very much!

Single Mom – Injured cannot work- Garbage bill

My client is a Single mom struggling to pay her quarterly garbage bill. She was finally able to secure a part-time job after not being able to for the last couple of years and within walking distance. This has been difficult for her due to her having a non-verbal daughter and securing a sitter as well as not having her driver’s license and a vehicle. My client was able to get through her first day of training. Then later that day she broke her foot while attending to her daughter. Her foot took longer to heal than expected. Her new place of employment held her position for a couple weeks but ultimately had to let her go. She was counting on her first check to cover her $109 garbage bill. This was due on Feb 1st and does not want it to cause any infractions with her landlord. Her income is limited. She was applying for county assistance but because she was offered this position, she did not complete the paperwork. This is something we are currently working on together but takes time. She is very overwhelmed with the news she no longer has her position. Any amount would be helpful to elevate some of her stress.

Uber Gift Cards To Get To Work

I have a client that has been living in shelters and in tents for the last few months.  He will be housed this month in Chaska.  He also recently found employment in Jordan and starts October 22nd.  My client does not have a valid driver's license.  He needs help with transportation from Chaska to Jordan and back again.  He currently only has a bike available to him. It will take him about an hour to bike there and back. He will be working 1st shift which means he will be biking in the dark both there and back soon.  Not only is that an unsafe option due to traffic issues, but it is also unsafe due to possible bad weather conditions.  I am hoping to get him $300 in uber gift cards to get him back and forth for 2 weeks.  Uber rides are anywhere between $15 and $30 a ride depending on the day and time.  He will be able to pay for his own transportation once he gets his first paycheck.

DDP Support

My client has struggled with mental health issues, addiction and homelessness on and off for many years now. She has only been in our housing program for less than 6 months. In that time, she has already come up with a plan to help her become more stable and independent. She has been able to establish medical care and providers. She has even reached out to programs that she may need to utilize and has been able to get fee amounts for those next steps. My client has not had a valid driver's license for many years due to her addiction. She is now sober and is trying to set up a valid and achievable plan to get her license back and take the needed classes. Due to her history, she does need to go through the driver diversion program. This has a fee of 150. Once she is able to pay this fee, she will be able to start her journey to healing and independence.
