Urgent need for medical transportation funds

A medical stretcher transport from Shakopee to Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. As this senior woman has stated, "I am respectfully reaching out to request any assistance that may be available to help cover the cost of a round-trip stretcher transportation from my residence in Shakopee to Methodist Hospital in St. Loust Park. I am currently recovering from a broken left femur and have been placed on non-weight-bearing status for up to six months. Due to my condition, I am unable to use stairs and require3 stretcher transport. At this time, I do not have active medical insurance (she is $100.00 over the limit for Medical Assistance/aka Medicaid) and my Medicare coverage will not take effect until January 1, 2026. The Estimated cost for a round-trip stretcher transportation ranges from $720.00 to over $1,000. My medical appointment is scheduled for December 24th, at 10:45 a.m. (date subject to change due to the holiday. I have searched and the most affordable option is Quality Stretchers, LLC. Any assistance or guidance you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated during this difficult time. Thank you for your time and consideration. Merry Christmas Respectfully, (signed by River Valley Health Services' patient.) Her elderly husband has been caring for her and is low-income himself without the extra cost of this transportation. She is bed-ridden and has to be cared for 24 hours a day by him. The RVHS has contributed $100.00 towards this need but cannot go over that limit. The nurse that saw the patient says that this is urgent and cannot wait. Due to the complication of her break, she must be seen by the doctor at Methodist Hospital. Any contribution is not too small. If several donors are able to pitch in, she can gather the necessary funds to enable her to be seen by the specialist. The cost is so high due to the necessity of having multiple staff carry her on a stretcher, so she doesn't put any weight on the broken leg.

Senior couple needs help with new tires

A senior couple is in urgent need of help. Only one spouse is able to work, as the husband is unable to work due to health issues. He had four different, major 4 surgeries in the last two years, and was never able to go back to work. They rely on a single limited income and cannot afford necessary car repairs. The wife was able to research more affordable car repair shops and found a discount tire store in Bloomington. The two new tires for a 2017 GMC Arcadia would be $500.00. Their vehicle needs these new tires, especially in the snowy weather that is occurring. They are unable to cover this expense at this time. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Young family needs stackable washer and dryer in their townhouse

A young family is in need of a standard size stackable washer and dryer. The mom has struggled with mental health issues and has been victorious in attaining sobriety while raising her very energetic eight-year-old son with limited income. She has lost a job due to her mental health issues. She decided to reach out to her son's father who agreed to become her caregiver and support her and their son. He works full-time and can only help out in the evenings and weekends. She has no transportation. She has applied for assistance through the county but haven't been approved for any financial assistance. They really need to have their own washer and dryer to save money by not having to go to a commercial laundromat. This will also save time that is spent at this location away from their home. She has found used machines on Market Place for as low as $200.00 in the past but weren't able to secure the funds quick enough before it was sold to another buyer. If someone has usable machines to donate, that would be great. If generous donors would be able to contribute any amount of money, that would be awesome. Any amount will quickly add up to remedy this request. Your kindness is appreciated.

Senior Needs funds to purchase deck boards to replace unsafe rotten ones.eck boards

An elderly man living below the Federal Poverty Guidelines of only $1254.00 a month, is in need of fifteen to twenty replacement boards that are 20' long in dimension, to make his deck safe again. A supporting post also has dry rot that needs to be replaced. He can do the work himself but can't afford the approximately $450.00 to purchase these materials. He continues to live in his own home independently and wants to remain there as long as it is safe. He was referred to other programs such as the Medicare Savings Program which will help him pay for his Medicare premiums. Having the additional $175.00 back in his Social Security check each month will help him in his monthly expenses but approval from the county social services where he was advised to apply, may take a while. He also was referred from the CAP Agency's Energy Assistance Program to the Chore Coordinator for help staying in his home. Since he is so low-income, other resources were explored such as local food shelves along with Loaves and Fishes, which provides a hot meal four nights a week.

Help a Senior Widow Maintain Her Home and Independence

I'm reaching out on behalf of a senior widow who lives alone in her home and hopes to continue living there as long as possible. She has her own well and a septic system that needs regular maintenance every 5-6 years. It's now time for her septic tank to be pumped, and the cost is estimated between $675 and $700. This is a necessary expense to keep her home safe and functional, but it's difficult to afford on her limited income. She also helps care for her grandson so that her only daughter can continue working full-time, which makes her contribution to the family invaluable. Currently, there are no local programs that assist with septic system maintenance. Any donation toward this cost would be deeply appreciated and would help her remain in her home, maintaining her independence and security. She took out a home equity loan to help supplement her Social Security - her only income and sold a nice lawn mower to help finance other bills. She is maxing out her credit cards and cannot finance anymore debt. She also uses a cane while inside the home and is having trouble with not having a railing to help guide her up her front steps and on the outside back door to her deck. Installation of these two railings plus materials would be approximately $400.00. This added safeguard will help ensure a prevention of a needless fall which will be harder to recover from should she suffer any injuries. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your kindness and consideration.

Help a Disabled Senior Stay Warm This Winter

A local disabled senior is in urgent need of help to replace his broken water heater. He has been living with only cold water for over six months. This kind gentleman has faced heartbreaking losses - he lost his only son in a tragic DUI accident several years ago, and one of his two daughters now battles incurable heart disease. Despite his struggles, he continues to care for his beloved dogs and works hard to stay independent in his own mobile home. He lives solely on Social Security Disability and Social Security. He faces high medical expenses not covered by Medicare. A local charity has generously agreed to match donations up to $500.00, which will help cover both the purchase of a new water heater and the electrician's installation costs. Every dollar helps make a difference - no amount is too small. Please consider donating or sharing this post to help him stay warm, safe, and comfortable this winter. Thank you for your kindness and compassion.
