This young man just graduated from high school and is now attending Normdale community college. He was able to get this far due to the support of his mother and his five siblings. This young man’s father is also supportive but just had a stroke a few months back, so is out of work to attend physical and occupational therapy. My client fully relies on his whole family for support which is why he is still living at home and they help care for his needs. They support him because he was born with a very rare condition called Vacteryl Syndrome and Ventricular septal Defect. The family now needs support because there water heater is broken and needs to be to be replaced. They had plumber come out and it just needs to be replaced. In order to replace this 50 gallon water heater itself coast $2,400.00. Then the vent or piping on top is older and can cause carbon monoxide so they are requiring everyone to replace them will be an additional $450. This is a very big cost for this family of 8 to cover. Any finical support you could provide to this would be greatly appreciated! I know this is a big request but there are not a lot of programs that will help cover things like water heaters / venting. There are two phenomenal students that are currently attending HB. Parent of the two students has recently gotten a great opportunity and landed a great job. The job requires here to start at 8:00 each day. In order to accommodate the work schedule she needs to drop off her students before school starts and pick them up after the school day ends. We are reaching out to find a partner that could help support the cost of the before and after school cost. Mornings are our greatest priority right now and the cost for that is $1,417. | Help Now | Reliable vehicle to get to and from work and medical appointments.I have been working with a youth for over 2 years and he has resided at our Passageways Supportive Housing Apartments the entire time. He came to us with a vehicle and we had it looked at by three different garages and all stated that it would not be economically feasible to fix all of the issues it had. We had it towed to a non-profit in Minneapolis that has volunteers work on cars and they stated it was also not feasible to fix it and to scrap it. Now that he doesn't have a vehicle, he is unable to search for a job and go to his medical appointments. We are hoping that someone has a gently used vehicle they may be willing to donate. This youth is a hard worker and has been through so much with his physical health and his emotional health since he was a very young child.
