Car repairs and Behind on Bills

73 year old woman was referred to Coordinated Response by the Savage Police Department because she was driving with a tire completely off the rim of her vehicle. An officer assisted her getting back home. Her vehicle remains inoperable at this time. This is a significant barrier to meeting her daily needs. For example, this created barriers to getting a cashiers check at a bank to pay rent. Prior to this above situation occurring, she had unplanned medical expenses that accumulated and put her behind on other bills. Coordinated Response is a crisis program that partners Human Services with law enforcement. This individual is grateful that the officer referred her to this program so she is able to get assistance with her significant financial stress that impacts her overall mental health and well being.

We have a gentleman in our Allos program who has been working incredibly hard to rebuild his life. Over the past several months, he has stayed sober, been consistent in the program, and is now at a point where he’s ready to take a big next step forward—getting his driver’s license back. Having his license will open the door to steady employment, independence, and long-term stability. 🙌 Right now, the only barrier is the $50 driver’s permit fee to begin the process.

Storage Unit Access for Vital Documents

We are supporting a young mother with one child who is actively working to exit homelessness and secure stable housing. She is in the final stages of qualifying for an apartment but is unable to complete her application process without her birth certificate and Social Security card. Unfortunately, these critical documents are currently in her storage unit. Due to a missed payment while navigating homelessness, she is temporarily unable to access the unit. She needs $157 to bring the storage unit current and retrieve the required identification documents so she can move forward with her housing application. This small but urgent amount will directly remove a barrier to housing stability for this young family and help them take the next step toward permanent housing.
