Wheelchair Bound Needs Lift

A mother utilizes a wheelchair after having multiple surgeries to her lower body. She drives a 2020 Chevy Equinox that does not have chair lift installed. This mom uses her upper body strength to pull herself into her vehicle, then scoots to the trunk area, to pull her wheelchair into the vehicle. When it's time to exit, she puts her chair down from the trunk and climbs into the chair, from the trunk. If possible, she needs lift installed on her current vehicle. Or, she needs a vehicle with a lift.

King size bedframe and or boxspring

We are in need of a King size box spring and/or bedframe. We have a King size mattress in one of our apartments, but want to make the bed more comfortable for our next tenant. We work with young people that are homeless and have been sexually exploited or trafficked. We are hoping to fill the apartment as soon as possible and this is the only thing holding us back. Thank you for your support!

Reliable vehicle to get to and from work and medical appointments.

I have been working with a youth for over 2 years and he has resided at our Passageways Supportive Housing Apartments the entire time. He came to us with a vehicle and we had it looked at by three different garages and all stated that it would not be economically feasible to fix all of the issues it had. We had it towed to a non-profit in Minneapolis that has volunteers work on cars and they stated it was also not feasible to fix it and to scrap it. Now that he doesn't have a vehicle, he is unable to search for a job and go to his medical appointments. We are hoping that someone has a gently used vehicle they may be willing to donate. This youth is a hard worker and has been through so much with his physical health and his emotional health since he was a very young child. Working also helps keep him busy and keeps his mind off of all of his past and current struggles.

Vehicle Needed

Hello! I have a youth that was finally able to get her license today on her birthday. She has been working very hard to make a better life for herself and her young son. She is currently living in our supportive housing program here at Passageways and has made incredible strides to gaining self sufficiency. When she came to us, she was fleeing a Domestic Violence relationship and had multiple mental health concerns. Then shortly after she arrived she found out she was pregnant. Her pregnancy was a very difficult one with nausea, constant anxiety about the health of the baby and her depressive disorder, About half way through the pregnancy she decided she was not mentally capable of raising a child and decided to put him up for adoption. She was fortunate to find a couple that were wanting to adopt and agreed to an open adoption with her. Since he was born, she has been able to see him only a few times due to transportation issues and not having a drivers license. She studied daily for her written test and aced it. Now today, she was able to obtain her license and would like to be able to drive a car to see her son and get a job. She does not have much money saved as she has been unable to work, so we are hoping someone may have a vehicle they would be willing to donate.

Vehicle repairs or new vehicle needed

UPDATE: STILL NEEDED - I am working with a youth at Passageways who has successfully transitioned out of trafficking and is getting a fresh start with their life. They are finishing up their esthetician courses and plan on continuing to become an RN. They are also working at a part time job. They currently have a mini-van that is worth $0 and is inoperable due to the brakes not working and needing new rotors. There are multiple other repairs needed, but they are not as much of an emergency at this time. This youth does not have the finances to pay for these repairs. She has a loan of $16,000 she is paying on for school and all the money she makes goes to her schooling. We would really appreciate if anyone has a car they are willing to donate. The van is going to continue to cost more money than it is worth and this young person is working hard towards finding their own housing. Lastly, they will be aging out of our program soon and I would really like to see her with a safe form of transportation as she continues to work towards her goals. Thank you!

Reliable vehicle to get to and from work and medical appointments.

I have been working with a youth for almost a year and he has resided at our Passageways Supportive Housing Apartments the entire time. He came to us with a vehicle and we found that he spent about $15,000 on a lemon. We had it looked at by three different garages and all stated that it would not be economically feasible to fix all of the issues it had. We had it towed to a non-profit in Minneapolis that has volunteers work on cars and they stated it was also not feasible to fix it and to scrap it. This youth lost his job due to COVID and now that he doesn't have a vehicle, he is unable to search for a new one. We are hoping that someone has a gently used vehicle they may be willing to donate. New Career

My client has been crushing it with the new start to her life! She has secured an apartment here at Passageways, she has enrolled her daughter in daycare and she is in the process of starting a new job. She has a career goal of being an Eye Lash Technician and has begun practicing the craft. She would like to go into business, but needs a certification. The cost is approximately $2000 and she has begun to save towards it. She was contacted by a friend that states that her shop is looking for an Eye Lash Technician and my client would love to work there. The classes only take 5 days (38 hours) and she could start the job immediately after getting her certification. We are hoping that we could get some financial assistance to help her get started as soon as possible so she can begin her career and provide for herself and her daughter. Thank you!!
