She has a career goal of being an Eye Lash Technician and has begun practicing the craft. She would like to go into business, but needs a certification. The cost is approximately $2000 and she has begun to save towards it. She was contacted by a friend that states that her shop is looking for an Eye Lash Technician and my client would love to work there. The classes only take 5 days (38 hours) and she could start the job immediately after getting her certification. We are hoping that we could get some financial assistance to help her get started as soon as possible so she can begin her career and provide for herself and her daughter. Due to an on-going investigation, her laptop was seized by law enforcement and they will not return it. She needs this laptop for work and school. She is a very hard worker and is currently using an old PC that is extremely slow! Also, in her quick move out of dangerous situation, she only grabbed her king size mattress and is currently sleeping on the floor with it. It is very hard for her to sleep on a good day, let alone dealing with Anxiety and PTSD. We are hoping someone may have a gently used box spring for her to be a little more comfortable. | Help Now | Emergency Car Repairs!!I have a single mother of a 5 month sweet little girl. She just got out of homelessness and resides here at Passageways. She is looking for a job and wants to start ASAP and have her daughter in day care. She has been working towards this goal for a couple of years now. She owns her own vehicle, but it started to act up. We took in in today to have it looked at and we found out that she needs to get work done on her engine that will cost over $1000. She will be paying for this out of her own pocket, but she also found out that she needs her brakes fixed also. She has been quoted $436 for the minimum repair and $892 for Struts, Brakes, lower control arms, and rear calipers. We are hoping that someone could possibly help with the cost or complete the repair at a lower cost. She was hired for a job and was to begin working next week, but she was involved in a car accident. She only received cuts and bruises, but the car rolled a couple of times and is totaled. We are hoping to find her a vehicle ASAP to get her back to starting her new job. We are hoping someone has a used vehicle they would consider donating to her. She does not have much money in savings and would like to keep it there as it is the first time she has had a savings account. She was able to get into an apartment for herself and her son here in Prior Lake! We are so happy for her and want her transition to go as smoothly as possible. With that being said, she doesn't have furniture for her new home except a toddler bed for her son. We are hoping that the FISH Community could help out with some donations of furniture or money to help get her started? Her only request is that either a Queen size bed or a king size bed be donated due to spending many nights in her car or in a single shelter bed. They will be moving into a 2 bedroom apartment after the 10th of July and will need help with the delivery of some items. | Help Now | Help with TaxesUPDATE - STILL NEEDED: Passageways Shelter and Housing Program provides emergency shelter beds for youth ages 13 to 17 and housing for youth ages 16 to 24 who have been victims of sex trafficking. I am wondering if there is anyone out there who could help up to 4 housing residents get their taxes completed at no cost? Some of the youth have very easy tax situations and some are fairly complicated. (At least for this case manager to handle on my own). | Help Now | Please help single mother get her car fixed!We had a 19 year old mother with a 1 month old son move into Passageways last week. She and her baby had been living out of her car that was inoperable. She had asked her uncle to fix her 2002 Chrysler Sebring and he told her all it needed was a fuel pump. She had the vehicle towed to her uncle once she moved into Passageways and in turn, he stole 2 tires off of her vehicle and never fixed it. We were able to get the vehicle to Passageways and it is currently sitting in our parking lot with 2 flat tires (that the uncle used to replace the ones he had stolen). We are hoping someone can help us get this vehicle operational again so that she has a means of transportation for herself and her young son. She is enrolling in school and wanting to find at least a part-time job, but is limited with no buses running in Prior Lake. She is currently 1 test away from passing her GED and then plans on getting a full-time job. She has a part-time job and her son is enrolled in daycare. The other day her car stopped working and was determined to be a total loss. She is without the transportation that she needs to continue to provide for her son and herself. She has her license, insurance and a good driving record. What she desperately needs is a vehicle to help her complete her goal of getting her GED, by the end of the month, and finding full-time employment. She is also hoping to start classes at Normandale Community College in the Spring.
