| Help Now | Gobbler HopperThis month, we are launching a campaign to collect turkeys for those who may not otherwise be able to afford one. How this works is with the link provided below, you can donate $15 to purchase a turkey and in return, you will receive a free beer at either The Boat House Brewery in Prior Lake, The Shakopee Brewhall in Shakopee, or Loons Landing in Prior Lake. We are partnering with Cub Foods in Shakopee to purchase these turkeys at a discounted rate. That being said, if you go to Cub Foods and try to purchase one on FISH's behalf, they will not sell you one. Once we receive all the turkey funds, FISH with go and buy all the turkeys at once, and distribute to different organizations like M.I C.A.S.A and other local food shelves. Let’s help people gobble until they wobble this holiday season! https://www.fishpartnernetwork.org/gobbler/Submitted by: FISH | All Locations | No | 1669852800 | Closed - Filled through FISHOffers | |
| Help Now | Help Feed Some Hungry TeensTreeHouse has 10 students enrolled, have a great group of volunteers but are needing meals and also fill-in van drivers. If people want to furnish a meal for 10 -12 people, usually something simple that can be brought in, such as spaghetti, tater tot hotdish, tacos, chicken alfredo, pizza, sub sandwiches, just about anything. They do not have any kitchen space available so disposable containers works great or crock pots/dishes that can be taken home and washed. They have paper goods such as plates, silverware, bottled water, etc. They would even appreciate gift cards to Dominos, Red Savoy, Kwik Trip, Cub or HyVee.Submitted by: FISH | Shakopee | No | N/A | Closed - Canceled | |
| Help Now | 1st grade girl in need of some thingsA teacher from a Scott County School District reached out about a 1st grade girl who might need a few things. She mentioned the girl has a hard time tying her shoes and constantly is tripping on her shoe laces, so she asked for a pair of school shoes for the little girl that she can keep at school. She also mentioned the little girl always has hair in her eyes, and it is a distraction in class when she is trying to pay attention to a lesson. To make things easier, she asked for a little bag with some hair binders, a brush, detangling spray and head band so the teacher or class para can help the girl with her hair to help with those distractions. We are hoping to order this student a pair that will fit now, and a pair that will fit in the spring.Submitted by: FISH | All Locations | No | 1669766400 | Closed - Filled through FISH | |
| Help Now | 3rd grade boy basketball seasonWe have a 3rd grade student who loves sports. His family paid for him to play football this Fall but had to choose to have the cousin play basketball because costs prevented them from having both in the basketball. The current reality is that this student comes to practice and watches his cousin each day since his family is unable to have both in the program because of costs. He desperately wants to be out with his friends playing. Both parents experienced incredible struggles as young people and went back to school to complete their high school diploma after the typical age of completion. They were both one of the firsts in their family to finish high school. Now, they have completed trades degrees and are working full time. Their children are now moving towards thriving in the educational system they struggled in as parents. And, because of factors like debt, things remain stressful and fragile financially. The children are often in the care of relatives because parents work rotating shifts, including nights. Contributing to this student’s access to basketball participation will improve his social, emotional, and academic health in the short and long term. Thank you for considering. The amount to play is $200 plus the student needs new basketball shoes and bag so total amount asked for is around $400Submitted by: FISH | All Locations | No | 1669766400 | Closed - Filled through FISHFulfilledOffers | |
