Parents are trying to help their 12 year old son expand his interests and try new activities in an attempt to help him find a positive social group he can connect with. He lacks social skills and misinterprets social situations, which makes it difficult for him to make and keep friends. They would like him to get involved in acting/drama this summer, but feel he needs extra adult support to be successful there. He can be impulsive and needs reminders about staying on task and personal space. They are looking for a volunteer or mentor that would be willing to offer this additional support to their son during the camp. One camp in Shakopee is offered Aug 3-8, from 8:30am-12pm. There is another camp offered in Chanhassen July 6-10, from 9am-12pm. Family is fine with either activity that would work for a volunteer.
