This family has been without steady income for the last 4 months when the father/husband was injured on the job. During this time he has been hospitalized several times and will require future surgeries. It is unclear when he will be able to return to work. Being the sole worker outside of the home they have had to make many sacrifices to make it through these last several months and have fell behind on their gas and electric bill and are facing disconnection. They have contacted local energy assistance agencies and have not been able access funds from other sources. They are in need of 500 dollars to Centerpoint and 629.83 to Xcel Energy to avoid being disconnected. Any help is much appreciated by this family! Help Now	Reliable Vehicle or money to put towards a vehicle A single mother of two just moved into her own apartment and she has been sober for almost a year and is making great progress in all aspects of her life. She is looking for a more reliable vehicle as she recently received 50/50 custody of one of her children and will need to transport the child to school every other week twice a day. She is worried that her current vehicle will not be reliable for long as she would be driving from Savage to Lakeville twice a day every other week. Help Now	Family in need of car repair A family is in need of assistance with a car repair. The father in the family uses their vehicle for the two jobs he works. One of the jobs is a delivery job where he uses his vehicle, and he has noticed lately that there is an increasingly bad sound coming from the undercarriage of the car he is getting very worried about. He stated he had purchases a new battery at Midas a year ago and they told him he may have a CV joint going bad, and is hoping that is the cause. Midas gave him an estimate of around $1600, which the family simply cannot afford- it would take them over a year to save that amount . He recently brought the car back to Midas to have it looked at again, however was informed that there would be a $100 charge to do so. They are hesitant to pay the fee, due to trying to save for the repair. The family has money towards purchasing the part, but has not been able to find an affordable place to have the repair done.
