The house in which the family has lived for several years was in general disrepair and needed a lot of work, specifically on windows and doors that had water damage due to inadequate gutter system, and replacement of the entire gutter system. The woman recently found a job; but having been a stay-at-home mom for many years, she was not able to find a job that affords her the ability to pay for these materials. Volunteers from local churches have stepped up to do some of the exterior repair work, and a youth group and other volunteers have done the painting. Other volunteers have helped to declutter and clean the interior of the home and some yard work. The need is financial -- to pay for the cost of construction materials, paint, and a new gutter system.
