Women and children who have experienced domestic violence in the past year often

Toys and gift cards are being collected for Southern Valley Alliance for Battered Women's annual Gifts of Hope program. Toys for all ages like blocks, culturally diverse dolls, bath toys, building toys, arts & craft sets, electronic games, sport equipment & apparel, jewelry, DVD's etc. can be dropped off at bins located at Shakopee City Hall, Shakopee Community Center, Shakopee Police Department and Shakopee Library on or before 12/14/15. Gift cards also make great gifts for teens and moms!

Winter outerwear wanted! We are looking for gently used or new winter outerwear for our annual Shop with a Cop event. Children's snow pants, boots, etc. encouraged. Please bring donations to 475 Gorman Street between 8a-4:30p by December 10th. Any size accepted, youth sizes preferred.

Local working family that is caring for grandchild, has waged a war against a lice infestation in their apartment. Professional exterminator contacted to heat treat the apartment but family unlikely able to stay in apartment until that happens. ANY donations to apply towards temporary hotel stay --or to apply towards last month rent/damage deposit on new apartment--would give this family the needed relief from this emotionally, physical and financially draining situation.
