Our families are hard working and despite this 75% of our families still live underneath the poverty line. Students who do not have snowpants and boots are unable to access snow play and our playground (for risk of getting all wet, uncomfortable, sick, etc.). Because of the generosity, we are able to provide every student with a hand knitted hat. It has become a beautiful tradition that the students love. The individual who spends their time knitting the hats loves to do it AND it is quite the financial undertaking to make 500+ hats out of yarn.
