Washer for Opportunity home needed

We have an opportunity home in Shakopee where 6 hard working guys live. The men pay rent based upon income which does not leave a lot of extra cash flow for Allos for this house after bills/mortgage is paid. We currently have 3 new men who just moved in off the streets who are still get getting established and have not started paying rent. Unfortunately the washer for the home broke and we are asking for help to replace it.

EMERGENCY Car Repair

A family living in a local hotel and sharing a car had a hose break this morning making it unsafe and undrivable to work. They have 3 children and both parents are working full time trying to save up to get stable housing. The husband was able to walk to work today but the mom is a delivery driver and had to miss work. Anything helps to get this hard working mom back to work this morning.

Opportunity Home Graduation

We are celebrating the graduation of a man from an Allos Opportunity Home. He came in homeless and addicted to heroin. He has been clean for 13 months and is on a salary as a restaurant manager. He was baptized and is growing in his faith everyday. He is graduating the program and moving into his own apartment on Aug 1st. We are hoping to raise and pay his first months rent to help ensure financial stability and long term success. Any donations are appreciated!

Transition to Independent Living

We have a resident in an Allos Opportunity Home who is ready for independent living. Unfortunately he has a past rental debt preventing him from moving out of the home and into his own apartment. He owes $700 to a collection agency and the new landlord will not approve him to move in until he proves that this has been paid. We are trying to get this paid so that he can finally move into his own apartment again after years of treatment and group housing.

Auto Repair

We are working with an individual who was recently homeless and is now living in a hotel. We gave him a job at one of our restaurants and we are working with him to get to independent living. He was able to get a car to get to and from work and has been doing amazing! Unfortunately, after his shift last night the control arm broke when he was pulling back into the hotel. We are looking for $300 for the repair

Rental Assistance

A mom is short on rent for the month after purchasing Christmas presents for the family. She just got a promotion to General Manager of a restaurant on December 26th. After years of living in poverty she is finally in a place where she will be able to afford all of her bills. If we can get her help with this single payment it will help her to start in a place where she wont have to continue in debt and living paycheck to paycheck. We have been working with her for two years and she has made a lot of progress and has a lot to be proud of. This is the last hurdle for her to reach independent living!

Help Restoring a life

We have a resident in our Opportunity Home in Shakopee whose past is keeping him from moving forward. 6 months ago he was living in a homeless shelter and addicted to heroin. Since he moved in with us he has been restored in every aspect of the word. He is substance free and working through traumas that led him down that dark path. He is employed with us full time at of one of our restaurants and doing so well that he is up to be promoted to GM! He is also doing his part to serve the community he is a part of. Our hopeless drug addict has become a hope filled inspiration! He is on the path to being self sufficient and graduating the Allos program within the next 6 months. In order to graduate he needs to be able to move into independent living but he is unable to save any money towards this goal. He has $2,030 in tickets to pay off before he can get his license and a $680 reinstatement fee. These are the last obstacles from his past that are keeping him stuck. Our goal at Allos is to help people completely delete their past life of struggle and move forward with the opportunity and chance to live a new life. We will meet this goal and we appreciate any and all help we can get in the process. We do not give the money to the individuals. We closely monitor their renewal plan and use the money as incentive when milestones are achieved and maintained. We work a debt reduction plan with individuals where we make direct payments on their behalf. This individual has earned this debt reduction.
