Help Now	Flood waters. Volunteers to fill and place sandbags to prevent damage to/destruction of homes on Prior Lake. OPERATION WATERS EDGE SANDBAGGING will continue from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19. Any and all assistance is welcome! Address for "Command Central" is14416 Watersedge Trail NE, Prior Lake, MN 55372. From MN 13 travel West on Boudin Street/ Commerce past NAPA Auto Parts to the road closed signs. This is obviously a residential area so park appropriately. Walk down Boudin Street (you will be walking through water), to Waters Edge, take a right and 14416 is on your left. There will be coordinators to assist you. Portable toilets will be available Food and Water will be provided by local businesses (to be thanked later). Volunteer employees from Prior Lake Park Nicollet will be donating a first aid station armed with Band-Aids, bug spray, bacitracin, etc. Things to bring: Durable Shoes Shovel Gloves Sunscreen If you have or know of someone who has access to the following for hauling sand bags, it would be greatly appreciated: Bobcat or other Skid Steer capable of traversing 20 inches of water. Tractor with a front loader Front loading Caterpillar or similar vehicle. Duck boats This relief effort will run from 8 AM to 9 PM Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, July 17, 18, 19. There will be approximately 10,000 sandbags needed for the construction. This will be a big and very important effort and all assistance will be greatly appreciated. Waters Edge residents hope to have the sandbag wall completed, pumps running, and neighborhood safe by Sunday. Many, Many Thanks. Help Now	Ongoing flooding on Prior Lake, threatening family’s home Need: volunteers to monitor pumps at home of victims of flooding on Prior Lake. Microwaveable food/pizza or other fast food gift cards for family. Financial donations to offset tremendous costs involved with saving the home. Family on Prior Lake who has experienced flooding and in danger of losing their home has need for volunteers to monitor pumps for 4-hour shifts during the night. Volunteers should have some mechanical skills and ability to lift heavy gas cans and operate a pull-start rope. Training will be provided. Family has also experienced great financial loss through this experience. Family has kept the house over generations and are hopeful of keeping it in the family for years to come. Any help through volunteering, food or financial assistance would be greatly appreciated. Help Now	This family is in need of assistance to pay for the construction materials used A Prior Lake mother of four recently went through an expensive, contentious divorce. The house in which the family has lived for several years was in general disrepair and needed a lot of work, specifically on windows and doors that had water damage due to inadequate gutter system, and replacement of the entire gutter system. The woman recently found a job; but having been a stay-at-home mom for many years, she was not able to find a job that affords her the ability to pay for these materials. Volunteers from local churches have stepped up to do some of the exterior repair work, and a youth group and other volunteers have done the painting. Other volunteers have helped to declutter and clean the interior of the home and some yard work. The need is financial -- to pay for the cost of construction materials, paint, and a new gutter system.
