Volunteers to fill and place sandbags to prevent damage to/destruction of homes on Prior Lake. OPERATION WATERS EDGE SANDBAGGING will continue from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19. Any and all assistance is welcome! Address for "Command Central" is14416 Watersedge Trail NE, Prior Lake, MN 55372. From MN 13 travel West on Boudin Street/ Commerce past NAPA Auto Parts to the road closed signs. This is obviously a residential area so park appropriately. Walk down Boudin Street (you will be walking through water), to Waters Edge, take a right and 14416 is on your left. There will be coordinators to assist you. Portable toilets will be available Food and Water will be provided by local businesses (to be thanked later). Volunteer employees from Prior Lake Park Nicollet will be donating a first aid station armed with Band-Aids, bug spray, bacitracin, etc. Things to bring: Durable Shoes Shovel Gloves Sunscreen If you have or know of someone who has access to the following for hauling sand bags, it would be greatly appreciated: Bobcat or other Skid Steer capable of traversing 20 inches of water. Tractor with a front loader Front loading Caterpillar or similar vehicle. Duck boats This relief effort will run from 8 AM to 9 PM Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, July 17, 18, 19. There will be approximately 10,000 sandbags needed for the construction. This will be a big and very important effort and all assistance will be greatly appreciated. Waters Edge residents hope to have the sandbag wall completed, pumps running, and neighborhood safe by Sunday. Many, Many Thanks.
