Happy May everyone! We just wanted to send out a recap from the month of April. This month we were able to fill 18 needs in the community totaling $8,955.08! What a great month. A big thank you to all of our donors, we couldn’t do it with out you and your heart of wanting to help your community, We also had a wonderful 2nd Thursday meeting in April and heard from the best of the best on low cost healthcare resources. I will attach their presentations, which includes all of their wonderful resources. We wanted to highlight some great needs that were posted and met in the month of April:

I am working with a single mom who has three beautiful daughters.  This mom works incredibly hard and has two jobs to ensure that her kids have what they need.  She and her daughters have recently moved into a new apartment, and she needs a bit of help in getting some items for her youngest daughter who is almost 6 months old. The mom has indicated that she needs: a highchair, 6-9 month old clothing for a girl, GreatValue baby food, Enfamil original formula, size 2 diapers, and wipes.Any and all help would be greatly appreciated by this mom as she works so hard for herself and her kids.

A single father with three children is in need of gas money.  He is a seasonal worker and due to childcare costs and rising fuel costs my client is in need of some assistance with gas money to get to and from work.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

DeAnn Croatt donated towards it and a private donor finished it

I am working with a single mother of 3 children, ages infant, 3, and 7. The mother is currently working and just obtained stable housing which is a huge success for her.  This request is for financial help to enroll 2 of her children in extracurricular activities. The 7-year-old would like to patriciate in softball, dance, and yoga. The 3-year-old would like to patriciate in dance and t-ball. The financial support to help get these children into the community to build their social skills would greatly benefit them and provide some respite for this mom. I am working with this mother on a financial budget, which would include future activity costs for her children.

Have a single disabled woman who just exited homelessness. She was housed in a rural area with limited employment opportunity. She would like to be able to expand that search for employment, but her vehicle needs some repairs in order to do so. Total cost to repair and get in working condition is $300.

Swim lessons, summer clothing and bike for little girl in a temporary living situation while mom is in treatment until this fall. The little girl is living with a family who is very active during the summer but the little girl doesn’t know how to swim so the family would like to put her in swim lessons so she can come along to every activity this summer and do them safely. She also came with no clothing, so gift cards to target or kohls would be greatly appreciated.  Swim lessons are around $70 a month and they are hoping to put her in them until August.

I am working with a family with two young girls. They are currently homeless after both parents suddenly lost their jobs. The father has secured another job this week. Mom is in the process of finding employment while doing her best to remain positive and improve her mental health. If they don’t find shelter tonight they will be sleeping in their car- their daughters might be able to stay with the family for the time being but they do not want to separate them and are trying not to do that. We found a hotel in Shakopee for two nights it would be $150.08.  Thank you!
