Help Now | The onset of calcium deposits on his eyes has brought on this condition. We areUPDATE: STILL NEEDED: FINANCIAL HELP, ANY AMOUNT, FOR MAN WITH SERIOUS EYE PROBLEMS - We are looking for assistance for an individual who is losing his sight and is now unable to work. This has come on suddenly in the past couple of months. He is finding it very hard to make ends meet. He has an upcoming surgery that will hopefully repair the calcium deposits on his eyes and restore his sight. He is an accomplished and published outdoor recreation (fishing and hunting) writer but now is unable to meet deadlines. We are hoping someone or a group of people can help pay towards his rent for a couple months to get him through the surgery and hopefully back to work. His insurance does not cover this and that is expensive as well.Submitted by: Shakopee Lions Club | Prior Lake | Yes | N/A | Closed - Filled through others
Help Now | Limited means and cannot afford the costs of car repair. She does not have emerA middle aged woman lives alone in a small home in Shakopee. She works in Shakopee in the health care field. She is reliable and helpful in her professional role, and her heart is as kind as anyone I know. She would do anything for anyone that needed it. Yesterday, her car wouldn't start. With help, she brought it to the mechanic and was told it would cost her $582 dollars to get it fixed. She broke into tears wondering how she would pay for this and everything else the winter brings. This year alone her hot water heater has broken down and her car has been in the shop twice before. She has trouble paying her heat bill in the winter so she keeps her heat at 58 degrees. Her fridge has tuna and milk in it because groceries are "so expensive". She does purchase food from the Fare for All truck and that that does help immensely. Please consider helping her by paying this one time expense for her car to be repaired and providing a grocery gift card at Cub Foods in Shakopee.Submitted by: Shakopee Lions Club | Shakopee | Yes | N/A | Closed - Filled through FISH
