We received this need this week: A recently laid off employee who worked as an office worker in a medical facility, called to ask about resources and was referred to me to see if I knew anyone who had a washer and dryer to donate. She has to take all of the wash to a laundromat and it is very expensive and time consuming. Her 6-year-old son has an “adjustment disorder” which requires a lot of patience and therapy appointments. She doesn’t receive child support and is living on assistance from the county with SNAP, Medical Assistance and does get housing assistance. She recently applied for Energy Assistance from the CAP Agency but can’t afford to purchase her own washer and dryer. She would be so grateful for any donations or if anyone had a used or knew of a used washer and electric dryer for her.”
