Hello Amazing FISH Partners,

This week, you truly showed what happens when compassion meets action! Thanks to your generosity and quick response, we reeled in several urgent needs that were posted—and because of you, individuals and families in our community are breathing a little easier today. 🌟

Thank you for every donation, every share, every moment you spent helping someone you may never meet. You are truly casting ripples of hope across Scott County!

But like any good day out on the water, there are still a few big catches on the line that haven’t made it into the boat just yet. Some needs have been partially funded (thank you again!) but still require a little extra help to be fully met.

Here’s where we still need a few more helping hands: 🎣

If you are able to cast another line and help us bring these remaining needs to shore, it would make a world of difference. Every donation, big or small, gets us closer to a full catch—and a stronger, more supported community.

Let’s finish the week strong, together. 💙

FISH needs filled this week:

A client of mine has been on a feeding tube for months and recently got approved for Social Security Disability Benefit. Client has not being able to work at all last several months and the Social Security Disability benefit will not start until in the middle of May 2025. Client’s husband is working hard to make ends meet, but they are behind with several bills, including rent and car payment. It will be great support if you can kindly donate Target Gift Card for the family so that my client will be able to purchase household essentials and groceries for her 6 years old son and husband. Thank you for considering!  $300.00

I am working with a mom who is single-parenting and has teenagers who require a lot of support, supervision, and safety planning. While she is managing as well as she can with her children, this mom is also working. She has indicated that even with working, it can be difficult to make ends meet due to the needs of her children. This mom reported that any gift cards for gas or groceries would be very helpful for her and her family. Some momentary reprieve with costs of gas and groceries will allow for this mom to continue to focus on meeting her children’s mental health needs. $200.00

I am working with a mother who recently gave birth to a child who is in the NICU.  Mom is working hard to stabilize her finances for when baby comes home and is also struggling with the cost of commuting back and forth to see the baby.  Due to this and other factors, she has fallen behind on her phone bill.  She has paid down a considerable amount and has a sustainable plan to continue paying her bill in the future, but she still owes $100.  If she is unable to pay the outstanding balance by 4/23/2025, her phone will be shut off.   Any donations to help toward paying her past due bill would be greatly appreciated!

A mother is returning to work after having a baby and would like to pump breastmilk but does not have a way to keep milk cold. She would like to purchase a breastmilk thermos which can keep milk cold for many hours.  This will allow her baby to continue to receive healthy breastmilk as he grows. The cooler is about $70. Thank you!

We are supporting a mom and son in our program who were formerly homeless and have been working hard to maintain stability. The son just turned 18, is graduating high school, and has been working at Sam’s Club while making plans to attend college and take the right next steps toward independent living. His mom works as a server, and together they’ve come a long way in rebuilding their lives. $1780

Needs that still need some help:

I am working with a mom who is trying to leave a severe domestic violence relationship.  It is not uncommon that the person trying to leave is financially dependent on the abuser, which is the issue that this mom is running into.  Due to limited resources, she has minimal capacity to make sustainable change without additional support.  She is currently working with me on housing applications, which would present her and her daughter with a positive opportunity of change.  While she is working with me toward positive changes, financial support in the form of gift cards would be very helpful as it would help her cover costs of her storage unit, groceries, gas to get to meetings and drive her daughter to school, and presents for her daughter’s upcoming 7th birthday.  This mom is very appreciative of any support and puts it to good use to make sure that her daughter’s needs are being met.

Needs $175.00 to be filled

I am posting this need to request support on behalf of a single mother in the Savage community who is currently facing a difficult plumbing situation. She is experiencing urgent plumbing issues in her home which are affecting the safety and livability of her environment. This unexpected expense has created a significant financial burden for the mother. We are hoping to raise $585 to help reimburse her for the necessary plumbing repairs. Any contribution will make a meaningful difference and help ease some of the pressure she is facing.

Thank you for considering this request!

Needs $335 to be filled.  https://helpnow.fishpartnernetwork.org/need/plumbing-help-2/

I am working with a person who is parenting her children on her own, and she is in the process of opening/starting her own business.  While doing this, she is also pursuing part-time employment outside of her business to help with finances.  Consistent employment and finances have been a challenge for her for a couple of years and she is hoping that by starting her own business this will provide her with a steady and consistent income in a field that she is very passionate about.  There are a lot of startup expenses, and she has to apply for a salon license which will cost $350.  Any help with this license fee would be very helpful to her.  Thank you for considering.

Needs $250.00    https://helpnow.fishpartnernetwork.org/need/funds-for-salon-license/
