Happy Monday everyone! We have had an increase in needs for gift cards for food, clothing, and gas and we are hoping to fill these needs before the end of the month and we need some help! Below are a few needs that have recently come in :
The male I am helping receives some social security and he has a wife and children. His wife works a little bit, however, majority of the money they receive from social security goes towards their housing expenses, car expenses, and the need to take care of the children. They have reported getting by, but could benefit from the support with a gas card to help getting fuel to get around town to get to needed places such as grocery stores or appointments that any of the family members may have.

The mom is scheduled to have custody returned to her in early July but has been caring for the kids since December 2022. She is working full-time and has gotten her life on track. Mom was previously working with child protection when permanent physical/legal custody was transferred to a relative. However, this Mom has the hard done work since then to live in recovery/sobriety for a full year. She has been caring for her daughters whenever permitted by the school schedule and through planning with a relative.
The Agency has done safety planning and seen that this Mother is a safe parent and custody will be returned to her at the next court hearing. Mom has been working and supporting herself and her girls, but her income has not been enough to fully cover groceries or new clothes. Because custody was retained with the relative and will not be officially returned to her until court in July, she is not able to apply for any public assistance, and the girls need summer clothes and groceries urgently.

I’m working with a single mom who has been the victim of domestic violence. She has a full time job and works very hard to make ends meet, but when her kids are sick and she needs to take time off of work she doesn’t get paid. She continues to pay her rent, but when she needs to take time off of work for the children, she falls short for food for the month. She could really use some gift cards for Walmart and Cub.

A client of mine got a new job working at a hotel, she has been out of work for some time but is eager to start work again. The job requires her to dress in business formal but funds are tight at the moment for her to purchase these clothing items. She is looking for gift cards or donations so she can go shopping at Khols to get what is needed. The donations will go towards new shoes, pants & dress shirts. Much appreciation!
