Stepfather was caring for his step-son for almost the entire month of January while mom was in the hospital battling illness, and she ultimately succumbed to her illness in early February. Stepfather was estranged from his wife but was still a consistent contact and support system for his step-son while mom was battling her own medical issues. Stepfather has started making the move from Mankato to Shakopee so that his step-son can continue attending school without disruption, as well as continue to participate in after-school and additional social activities. There have been multiple trips back and forth as a result of the move, and finances have also gone towards getting bills caught up, as well as funeral expenses, leaving step-dad with limited funds. We are requesting some gas cards to help offset any further transportation/gas costs so that step-dad can get back on his feet and receive the other financial supports available through Scott County.

We are working with an elderly woman that needs a deep cleaning done on her teeth, which is not covered under her insurance. She is retired and on social security only. The cost of the cleaning is 764.00.
