Transit Link is asking for face masks for Dial a Ride clients to protect the drivers on the vehicles. Based on the number trips assisted with a month, they will need approximately 600 or so. These masks can be hand made or purchased. They will find a way to distribute them and also track who received them in an effort to collect data for reference. Anything you could do would be greatly appreciated.

If you would like to donate please contact Bethany: btjornhom@fishpartnernetwork.org

This request is for a mother of two. One of her children recently disclosed sexual abuse by a person in the home.  The mother is acting as a protective parent and had the offender move out of the home, but the offender was the only one with income. Without that income,  the mother does not know how she will pay May’s rent.   She has made several attempts to get a job, but with the current pandemic has not been able to gain employment.  This request is for a mother of two. It is due April 30th. I understand that she cannot receive an eviction during the shelter in place, but that is ending soon. I am hoping to get ahead of this before getting into May and her receiving an eviction notice.

St. Gertrude’s Long Term Care Facility would like their staff to switch into scrubs when they arrive at work. When they leave work they would shower and switch back into street clothes. This procedure would provide greater safety, from the Corona virus, to nursing home residents, staff, and the general public. Two sets of scrubs, at a cost of 50.00 is needed for each staff person. The need is large. St. Gertrude’s has a staff of 300. The total need is  $15,000.00. But a donation of  $50.00 will secure a set of scrubs for one staff member at St. Gertrude’s Long Term Care Facility in Shakopee.

A family of six have worked hard on maintaining sobriety and working through some difficult times. The family is now all living together. The parents have maintained sobriety for over six months. The mother shared that having special professional photos taken is one of her favorite things to do. We are hoping a photographer is willing to donate their time to date a few photos of the family from a safe distance (the road) of the family in front of their home.

A few small toys would also be great to have in her room.  This mom is eager to work on her own chemical dependency along with parenting.
