Mom is a single mom who has been homeless for approximately one year after leaving a physically violent relationship. She has worked very hard over the last year to improve both her mental/emotional health as well her financial situation and she and her children have most recently been residing with her mother since mid-July. She was able to finally secure an apartment for her family and has the ability to pay for $1650 of the needed $2624 but is unable to pay the remaining $974 needed. Any help towards assisting this hard working mom to move forward to independent living with her children would be greatly appreciated!

I am working with a mom who recently gave birth to a baby boy. She has not been able to return to work as of yet and the father of the baby is not able to assist financially at this time. Mom’s family lives out of state and she has very little support available to her. Mom has struggled with chemical use issues in the past but has worked hard to maintain sobriety for just over a year now. She is seeking out and utilizing any resources she can find to assist her right now but is struggling to obtain clothing for winter and as he grows. Any help that could be offered to this mom would be greatly appreciated!

Assistance for a mom who is leaving an abusive relationship and is going into a 3 month program that does not allow her to bring most of her belongings. She has put the belongings in a storage unit but is unable to pay the monthly cost of $200 to keep the belongings safe until she is able to move out onto her own. Mom has been working hard on improving her mental health as well as taking difficult steps to leave an abusive relationship to keep herself and her children safe. An elderly person living in a mobile home neighborhood in Jordan has significant health problems and therefore is not able to keep up on maintenance of her home. Last winter she spent several weeks in a row at her home and couldn’t leave because she was unable to shovel her driveway; she would wait until the snow melted to leave her house. In addition, the snow that accumulated by her front door caused damage to the door. This woman is in need of ongoing snow shoveling assistance this winter and if possible someone to look at her front door and see if it needs any repairs.

A pair of toddler walking shoes. Toddler is currently a size 2, but will soon be a size 3, so a size three is preferable. The grandma I am working with has reached out to some organizations for this already, done a lot of research, and would like to get a “Stride Rite” brand but is certainly open to other options. Mom has also requested a few gas cards to help with getting to work and the program for her GED.

This mom works hard every day at a social services agency helping the homeless people in our community. She experienced homelessness in the past, and she is very close to experiencing homelessness again. Although she lives in affordable housing, some unforeseen financial circumstances have set her back. She works so hard for our community each and every day, and she needs some support from the community now. Please consider helping this mom and her kids. She needs $750.00 to stop the eviction process, and she needs $1,000.00 to get back to good standing.

The family is need of various art supplies for the child in the home to stay busy with throughout the winter. He enjoys decorating things, doing “hands on” projects, science projects, activity/coloring books, using a white board and markers, listening to music, etc. He also enjoys reading the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and his younger sister enjoys reading Dog Man books. The family is also in need of gas and grocery gift cards as well as gift cards/assistance with low-cost family activities in the community, especially with winter coming up.

I am working with a couple that is parenting three children, with one child on the autism spectrum. The couple has trouble financially and is receiving services such as family therapy, individual therapy for child with ASD, and individual therapy for Mom, all through the county. The parents struggle with calming their child with autism down and his outbursts lead to violence and fighting between siblings and then frequent police calls as the parents do not know what else to do. Recently Mom was at a doctor’s appointment with the child and his doctor recommended a weighted blanket or weighted plush toy to help him calm down, and she felt like the plush toy might be the best fit. There are numerous kinds of weighted plush toys on Amazon and other websites. I saw one that was specifically a dog that would be great!

I have a young adult that attends school in another district. His mother typically transport him but unfortunately, she has experienced some health concerns that do not allow her to drive at this time. He is an experienced and safe Uber rider and could really benefit from Uber gift cards in which he can use to get himself to and from school. He is a great student and enjoys going to school.
