What created the need:Single parent of high school age girl with limited income encountered unexpected medical expenses. Daughter underwent surgery for newly diagnosed brain tumor, had less than a week to prepare. Parent had to miss work during recovery phase. Parent is resuming work schedule as daughter's health improves, but had to miss a chunk of income during this time.
