Veteran family of 5, needs tires and car repairs
As an Assistant County Veteran Service Officer, I'm reaching out on behalf of a deserving veteran family who urgently needs our community's support. This family of five is facing significant transportation challenges that are directly impacting their ability to access essential services, medical appointments, and daily necessities. The veteran's fiancée and youngest child both have disabilities, making reliable transportation not just a convenience, but a critical lifeline for their family's wellbeing and safety. Their vehicle requires immediate repairs to remain roadworthy and safe for transporting their disabled family members. The car desperately needs two new tires for safe driving conditions, brake repairs that are essential for family safety, air conditioning repair (which is crucial for the disabled family members during hot weather), and a trunk latch repair that affects the vehicle's security and functionality. Without these repairs, this veteran family risks being stranded without transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores, and other essential services that many of us take for granted. **Estimated Line Item Costs:** - Two new tires: $200-400 (depending on tire quality and vehicle size) - Brake repair/replacement: $300-600 (including pads, rotors if needed, and labor) - AC system repair: $150-500 (depending on whether it needs refrigerant, compressor work, or other components) - Trunk latch repair: $50-150 (parts and labor) - **Total estimated cost: $700-1,650** Your generous donation would directly serve a veteran who has served our country and now faces the additional challenges of caring for disabled family members. Every dollar contributed goes toward restoring this family's independence and ensuring they can safely transport their loved ones to receive the care and services they need. This is our opportunity to show our gratitude for their service while making a tangible difference in their daily lives.$0.00 of $1200.00
