UPDATE: RECEIVED $450 FOR THE TRANSMISSION – THANK YOU! NOW WE NEED A MECHANIC
I am working with dad and his two sons. The 17 year old son is scheduled to start at a new school on November 10th that family and professionals believe can better meet his educational needs so that he can graduate this spring. There is an issue with transportation to make this plan a reality. The son's car needs a transmission. They were quoted $450 for the cost of the transmission and $450 for the labor. Their limited income cannot cover this cost. We are wondering if anyone has any funds they feel they could put towards the cost of buying the part and if there are any mechanics who would be able to supply the labor to replace the transmission. Alternative transportation to school would have him arrive to school late every day which would interfere with him earning the full amount of credits needed in order to graduate. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!$0.00 of $0.00

UPDATE: RECEIVED $450 FOR THE TRANSMISSION - THANK YOU! NOW WE NEED A MECHANIC TO INSTALL.. Dad works full time in a manual labor job and has done very well with meeting all of their basic needs. They have been doing well at prioritizing their bills but this expense was not expected and they are feeling lost as to how to resolve it. The son has been looking for a job that would work around his school schedule and be within 1-2 miles so that he could walk to it in order to help with costs. He is hopeful that he will have a job by the end of the week but that will not come in time to help cover the cost of the repair before he is scheduled to start school on the 10th.
