What caused this need?
This need came about by the daughter?s growth into a new, bigger wheelchair that needs to accommodate life support equipment, including a battery, vent and oxygen while traveling to doctor appointments and to family events. The mom?s current non-handicap accessible van is no longer road-worthy and would be unable to fit the wheelchair even if it could be fixed. Mom, nurse and parents can no longer lift the daughter and wheelchair and need a van that has a lift or ramp that allows them to roll it into place. A vehicle has been found but the cost of $2800 is out of reach for this mother. Any donation towards this need would be greatly appreciated.
