She has expressed wanting to go to the Y as a way to get out of the house, burn
UPDATE: STILL NEEDED: I am looking for a mentor to take a 14 year old girl to the YMCA an average of once/week. She and parents need a break from each other so it would be preferred if another adult would be able to spend a couple of hours with her there. The day and time could be negotiated, based on mentor's schedule.$0.00 of $0.00

What caused this need?
She has expressed wanting to go to the Y as a way to get out of the house, burn off some steam, and be around other people. This girl has signficant anxiety which impacts her leaving her house and trying new things. She also lacks in social skills and is not at the level of other 14 year old girls. She has not been able to maintain a friendship with a peer. She would need to be supervised while in the community as she lacks understanding of social situations and boundaries. She is vulnerable to others and can say or do something that comes across as offensive. It is my hope that she would make a friend at the Y and be able to continue this activity after mentor helps her get comfortable there.
