Mother and Child Newly Out of Domestic Abuse

We (Scott County HHS) are currently working with a mother and child of domestic violence. The boyfriend has now been removed from the home and mom now needs to get all utility bills into her name. The city of New Prague REQUIRES a $300 deposit for mom to open her own utility account. Mom works full time while caring for her daughter. With these sudden changes to the household mom is unable to afford this unexpected $300 deposit that the city requires to have utilities moved into her name.
