Mortgage Assistance to Help Mother and Children Avoid Foreclosure
The family was able to make arrangements in September to temporarily avoid a forclosure sale on the family's home. As part of that arrangement, the family is required to submit $2858.00 (one month of the house payment) to delay the forclosure sale for a significant period of time, allowing Mom sufficient time to secure permanent housing for her and her children before the forclosure leaves them unhoused.$0.00 of $2858.00

What caused this need?
Mom and children have experienced significant upheaval in the past year. The home is in the name of the children's father and he refuses to provide assistance or to make arrangements for Mom and the children to remain in the home until they can transition to permanent housing. The children are already experiencing mental health difficulties as a result of the upheaval in their lives and Mom is concerned that a transition to homelessness or a shelter in the middle of the school year will be even more damaging. Mom is actively applying for work and has been doing gig work (door dash, etc) to make ends meet until she can begin a full-time job. Mom has experienced difficulty in her job search due to her criminal history but has recently secured a job offer for a full-time position. She anticipates this will allow her to plan for permanent housing. Making this payment by 10/3/2024 will allow Mom a significant amount of additional time to save money and secure permanent housing for her and the children.
