What caused this need?
Mom and her children lived with her mother and step-father, but both passed away within 60 days of each other (the last 6 months ago). At that time, she lost her home and her support system. Ashley and her four children (ages 1-14) have been living in hotels since then, trying to process through grief and navigate the systems for care without the assistance and guidance of her mother, who was her strongest counselor. Although mom receives SSDI, her funds ran out recently due to an unexpected car repair and she is in danger of being evicted from the hotel that they call home (where they also receive one meal per day).
