John came up to Minnesota from Texas. I’m not sure if he took a bus here or hop

John has significant mental health issues that have had him couch hopping and living a homeless lifestyle. His mother lives in Shakopee, but it is not possible to stay with her. He needs $152 for a bus ticket back to Texas where he knows how to live/navigate in the various homeless shelters. Perhaps rather than cash, a bus ticket would be more appropriate (and could not be "abused")

What caused this need?

John came up to Minnesota from Texas. I'm not sure if he took a bus here or hopped rail cars. He has been caught and ticketed for hopping rail cars and would be put in jail if he is caught doing that again.
