What caused this need?

I'm working with a woman who has overcome many obstacles and continues to move ahead. Over the past year she has completed treatment for chemical dependency, is abiding by the terms of her probation, is employed 30 hours per week (she just started this-she has been working full time for over a year.) She survived a childhood filled with loss, abandonment, and abuse, and has worked very hard to provide for her own children. She has a partner who has a serious and persistent mental illness and two daughters, ages 1 and 4. She is expecting another baby in May of this year. Recently, the couple secured an apartment in Prior Lake. This will be their first permanent residence in over five years. They had been residing at an extended stay hotel in Shakopee. She has worked and saved diligently to get this place of their own. She has paid the deposit and first month?s rent and will move in this weekend. She will be able to maintain this apartment for a long time. Her partner receives social security disability, maintains medication, and is currently attending parenting classes. She is a very motivated, hardworking young woman and has the ability to sustain this residence and take care of any furniture she receives.
