Gas cards so she can participate in her son's chemical dependency treatment program in Minneapolis. Three gas cards were donated - thank you for your generosity! However, the son will be in treatment for a year, so more help would be appreciated.

What caused this need?

I am working with a single mom living in Prior Lake with significant health issues affecting her back that are inoperable. She used to be a nurse but no longer can work and is on limited income receiving Social Security Disability. With significant medical bills for prescriptions, doctor bills and a high medical deductible every month, her cash flow is very limited. She has no vehicle and relies on others for transportation, using Smart Link and medical transportation for her immediate need. She has a son who is 20 years old who has struggled with addiction since he was 14 years old. He recently hit a very low point with his addiction and came to the conclusion he needed to help himself. He has never tried a faith based treatment program and recently started Teen Challenge in Minneapolis. It is a 13 month program and he is doing very well and his mother reports seeing a significant change in him both personally and spiritually. Part of the program is very active parent involvement. She is struggling to get to these weekly meetings due to the fact that she has to rely on others to transport her and due to her limited income she does not have the means to offer them gas money. She is looking for gas cards that she can offer to these friends in appreciation for their transportation to these meetings. Thank you for your time and consideration to this request.
