What caused this need?

I am working with a family through Children's Mental Health. Mom was laid off unexpectedly the end of May and just obtained full-time employment again this week. Due to the loss of income, the family is unable to pay their June rent of $1500. They do not have an eviction notice yet, but the landlord is calling weekly looking for June rent. Now that both parents are working full-time, rent will not be an issue going forward. Any help towards the $1500 is very much appreciated! *As of 06-22-16, the family has a "pay now or vacate the property" notice from the landlord. Any help is much appreciated!
