Housing Assistance
We were contacted by a family that is needing help with housing. At the time of the email, the family of 4 were living at fish lake campground for 2 months living in a camper. the campgrounds are closing for the season and they aren't really sure where to go. She and her husband were both laid off in March because of covid. They were living in a rental property for 4 years and their landlord told them he couldn't rent the home anymore and needed to move in 30 days. They have stayed in the Walmart parking lot for the last 2 nights. Prior to that, they stayed in 2 different rest stops. Her husband was able to find a job but they pay 170 weekly at the campground so it doesn't go far. We have put them in touch with a contact at the CAP agency however, hotel gift cards would be appreciated to get them out of the camper until they can find housing. Thank you so much for your consideration.Submitted by:
