Helping a Local Youth Drive Toward Independence

What caused this need?

Despite his family currently navigating the challenges of living in transitional housing, this young man is doing everything right. He is already working a job, but a significant portion of his hard-earned income is swallowed up by paying out-of-pocket for Ubers to get to and from work. To break this cycle and achieve true independence, he has already taken the initiative to complete his Driver’s Education class. However, he has hit a roadblock: he lacks the transportation and resources to take the next crucial steps. The Need We are looking for funding or donated ride credits (Uber/Lyft) to cover the specific transportation legs required to get his license: Rides to/from the DMV to take his written driver's permit test. Rides to/from his 3 mandatory Behind-the-Wheel training classes. Securing a driver's license will be an absolute game-changer for this young man. It will eliminate his reliance on expensive rideshares, protect his savings, and provide the long-term mobility and independence he needs to support himself and his family as they transition into permanent housing.
