Help a Senior Widow Maintain Her Home and Independence
I'm reaching out on behalf of a senior widow who lives alone in her home and hopes to continue living there as long as possible. She has her own well and a septic system that needs regular maintenance every 5-6 years. It's now time for her septic tank to be pumped, and the cost is estimated between $675 and $700. This is a necessary expense to keep her home safe and functional, but it's difficult to afford on her limited income. She also helps care for her grandson so that her only daughter can continue working full-time, which makes her contribution to the family invaluable. Currently, there are no local programs that assist with septic system maintenance. Any donation toward this cost would be deeply appreciated and would help her remain in her home, maintaining her independence and security. She took out a home equity loan to help supplement her Social Security - her only income and sold a nice lawn mower to help finance other bills.
