A veteran family of 4 have fallen on hard times following a new medical diagnosis and unforeseen expenses. What caused this need?
The veteran has a new medical diagnosis that has required frequent appointments and has inhibited his capacity to work. His wife has become a full-time caregiver and has been unable to seek alternative employment. They have two school age children. We are working with the VA to obtain caregiver status that could provide extra income and support for the family; however, the process is extensive and takes a significant amount of time.
