What caused this need?

A young man in his mid-20?s has been hospitalized for several weeks with pancreatitis. He is home now but unable to work until he regains his strength. He is a licensed heating system repairman but without a job at this time. He is living with his mother and is in need of some food support until he can get back on his feet again. Once physically well, he will seek employment in his field.
