What caused this need?

A single mom of two children has recently left a domestic violence relationship would like to enroll her 7 year old daughter in Girl Scouts. Currently this mom is homeless and in the process of obtaining housing and employment. This 7 year old was able to do an activity over the summer while helped the family have something to look forward to and create structure for the family. Any help or information on Girl Scouts in the area would be helpful.
