A mom wants to go to school
This is an amazing story of redemption and triumph. This mom has had a life long struggle with drugs and alcohol. Until now she has not been fully present for her children. An incident earlier this year led to rock bottom. Her son was removed from her care (for the 2nd time) and because of laws and statutes, it was highly likely she would quickly lose parental rights to her youngest son. This news was all this mom needed to determine she is ready to stop this pattern- stop this cycle! She immediately entered treatment (without being asked to). She thrived in this setting and is now participating in outpatient treatment. It's different this time- she said, "this time I wanted to be there". She has made amazing changes in her life and now she is committed to spending her life giving this same gift back to others. This mom wants to become a Peer Recovery Specialist and eventually become a licensed drug and alcohol counselor. She is set to enroll in the course to become a Peer Recovery Specialist and she needs $450 to help her achieve her goals.
