What caused this need?
A family in Families Moving Forward Southwest is in need of funds for car repairs. Mom and her five children are homeless after she lost her job due to a vehicle breaking down and then couldn?t pay rent.Now in shelter, Mom got a new van from her sister. Mom has also found work again. But the new van needs replacement of the brakes and rotors, at a cost of $360 for both front and rear brakes. It is not currently driveable, so Mom is challenged to drop off the children at day care and get to work with sharing rides. This family is making progress toward moving out of shelter and back into a home of their own, but need reliable transportation to make this work.
