Transportation and Food
A single mom of four (ages 4, 9, 13, 14) recently got out of a domestic abuse situation. She commutes three hours each way to and from her job in Edina that she's held for 11 years. She hasn't had funds to replace her vehicle, so for months has walked three miles to the bus stop to get to the MOA, where she then transfers to Edina. She leaves home at 4am and returns at 7pm. She struggles to provide basic needs such as food, and the food shelves are closed by the time she gets home from work. A lead on an extremely low cost or donated vehicle could help her cut part of her six-hour daily commute. Gift cards to help with food until she is able to utilize local resources would also be extremely helpful. She lives within walking distance to a Target store.$0.00 of $200.00
