The family has found a $2,500 vehicle that will work for their needs. A local bank has agreed to work with the family on financing and the family has secured $1,000 already. The $1,500 we seek in collateral will be held by the bank as the family makes monthly payments on the loan. Once the loan is paid off, the collateral will also be paid back to the donor. What does the back to school season mean when a family is homeless? For one family in shelter with Families Moving Forward Southwest, it might mean having to leave the school you love. We are seeking $1,500 in collateral for a loan, so this family can stay in school. The family is enrolled currently in Waconia schools and the children are thriving in the 4th, 3rd and 2nd grade. But the family doesn?t have a way to get the kids to school. They do not have a working vehicle and because of their previous homelessness and mobility, this family doesn?t qualify for being picked up by the school bus. They hope to purchase a car to be able to not only bring the kids to school, but also find work and a place to live in the Waconia area.
