UPDATE: Mom has paid $400towards October rent, but needs to pay $660 to be up to date with past due rent/fees to avoid a UD being filed on her. Moving forward mom has just qualified for a supportive housing voucher and should be able to maintain rent payments on her own. It is very important she doesn't lose her current residence.$0.00 of $0.00

What caused this need?
I am working with a single mother and her two children. I have put in a rent request for this family before, but mom was able to pull together the funds on her own and did not get help through FISH. She has already paid half of her rent, but is struggling to pay the remaining $470. She was recently diagnosed with a lifelong illness that is very similar to MS ? this has prevented her from working, which has been very hard for her. One of her children also has an illness and with their physical health combined they have a lot to deal with. Mom is going through the social security process to secure a permanent source of income for her family as she is unable to work, but this process is very thorough and takes time. She is also working with a housing team to secure permanent subsidized housing. Once these things are in place rent should not be an ongoing issue. Thank you very much in advance for your consideration for this family.
